Membership

KAUT and AKD are nonprofit organizations committed to the development and cultivation of kendo in Central Texas. Our instructors, officers, and directors donate their time and energy on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation for their involvement. Membership dues are used for facility rentals, special events, special practices and tournaments.

Membership Dues

After your first [FREE] class, KAUT/AKD membership dues are accepted through Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal to info@austinkendo.org.

  • KAUT Membership dues: $50/semester or $85/academic year, with a current and valid student ID.

  • AKD Membership dues: every January and July for a 6-month period: $200 for Adults (21+) and $120 for Students (<21). Prorated amounts when joining in months other than January or July.

  • For kenshi with limited practice availability, or those who want to practice several times more before committing to a membership: five (5) practice sessions are $75/$50 (Adult/Student).

In addition, KAUT and AKD members must join the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) and the Southwest Kendo & Iaido Federation (SWKIF) with annual dues for the period April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. This is required for insurance purposes and for federation events and rank testing. The next membership drive will be from March 16 to 31, 2024. All KAUT and AKD members will be required to register at auskf.sport80.com.
